01 / An eye for equipment
A table tennis ball and a football are both called balls, but their diameters are worlds apart. A racket is measured end to end, while a goal is measured between its posts. Size It Up Sports Gear turns familiar equipment into a question of linear scale. The picture helps you recognise an item; the named axis tells you what to compare.
The current 100-object collection spans balls, rackets, boards, targets, athletics, fitness and specialty gear. Every entry has a reviewed linear measurement, named version or range, and a Classic silhouette.
Size It Up Sports Gear uses a named standard or product format for every scored object. That matters because a training football, youth racket and competition goal need not have the same dimensions as other versions of the same thing. Size It Up Sports Gear treats each selected format as one reference, not a universal average.
02 / Read, resize, reveal
Size It Up Sports Gear follows the site’s five-round Daily format: read a reference object and a target, resize the target silhouette, then lock in a guess. Unlimited mode uses the same reviewed measurements with different pairs. Size It Up Sports Gear keeps an object's measurement fixed across both modes.
The version and measurement axis are visible before a player guesses in Size It Up Sports Gear. A bare label such as “ball” would hide the difference between diameter and circumference, and “racket size” would conceal which endpoints count. In Size It Up Sports Gear, opening the measurement details shows the full basis before a guess.
Check whether the object is a competition size, a named product or another documented format.
Compare one straight length, height, width or diameter. Weight, capacity and playing area are not scored.
Use the reference as an anchor, then read the selected value and measurement basis after the guess. The full collection below links each source.
03 / One named span
Size It Up Sports Gear compares straight-line dimensions in metres. A tennis racket runs from handle butt to frame tip. A ball uses outside diameter, not the distance around its surface. A skateboard runs from nose to tail; a goal uses its specified opening width. Size It Up Sports Gear labels those endpoints beside the score reveal.
A source may publish a circumference rather than a diameter. In Size It Up Sports Gear, the diameter of a spherical ball can be calculated as circumference divided by π, and the source note states that conversion. An oblong rugby or American football instead needs a named end-to-end length. That keeps Size It Up Sports Gear from treating two unrelated axes as though they were the same.
Sport rules often give a permitted range. Each playable entry identifies its selected value or named model and retains the range in the explanation. Size It Up Sports Gear never turns a maximum allowed racket length into a claim about every racket. It uses a specific chosen value, with the permitted interval explained when relevant.
04 / Avoid false equivalence
A “size 7” basketball is a named ball specification; the seven is not a length. FIBA gives its circumference as a range. Size It Up Sports Gear must convert that range carefully before showing a diameter. The same caution applies to football size labels and glove sizes.
An outline does not by itself identify a measurement in Size It Up Sports Gear. A hockey stick can be compared along its full length, while the curved blade and shaft change its screen footprint. The game therefore states which ends set the value. A basketball hoop uses its clear inside diameter, whereas a gymnastics ring uses its stated outside diameter.
Size It Up Sports Gear also separates equipment from the surrounding venue. A goal frame and a playing field are different objects. The collection uses a goal opening, not the length of the pitch, and a net span, not the court area. Size It Up Sports Gear scores only the named gear, not the venue around it.
05 / From the live library
A 40 mm table tennis ball is a useful small anchor. The IFAB competition football specification spans 68–70 cm in circumference, equivalent to about 21.6–22.3 cm in diameter if treated as spherical. FIBA’s size 7 basketball spans 750–770 mm in circumference, about 23.9–24.5 cm in diameter.
The proportional bars below use the same selected values as the game library. For ranges, the midpoint is a representative permitted size, not a claim about every manufactured ball. These Size It Up Sports Gear examples are independent of today’s five answers. The landing page never embeds the current Daily answers.
Size It Up Sports Gear uses each selected diameter for bar width. A midpoint is a representative value within its rulebook range.
06 / Reviewed equipment library
The 100 Size It Up Sports Gear entries below show the selected linear size, axis and source. Two basketball sizes are intentionally separate because their specifications differ. Several equipment silhouettes naturally share an outline; their labels and measurements identify the chosen version.
The source review excluded protective gear whose published ‘size’ described the wearer’s body rather than the equipment’s outer dimensions. Size It Up Sports Gear includes other documented specialty objects instead of inventing measurements. Each accepted entry links its source below.
100 PLAYABLE ENTRIES · 7 FAMILIES · SOURCES LINKED
In Size It Up Sports Gear, round balls use outside diameter. American football and rugby union ball use tip-to-tip length.
Size It Up Sports Gear names the selected racket, bat or stick format and measures its full end-to-end span.
Size It Up Sports Gear follows one board or paddle from nose or grip to its far tip. It does not compare surface area.
Size It Up Sports Gear distinguishes a goal’s clear opening from a net’s complete fabric span and a target’s outside diameter.
Size It Up Sports Gear uses the specified implement or apparatus, including the selected competition class when sizes differ.
Size It Up Sports Gear identifies a named product or configuration; weight labels are never treated as a length.
Size It Up Sports Gear includes unusual equipment only when a published straight-line dimension supports the entry.
07 / Build a sense of scale
Start with the axis. The same word “size” can describe circumference, length, width, height, mass or volume. In Size It Up Sports Gear only the named linear span enters the score. Write down a couple of familiar anchors and compare in multiples.
Do not count a racket’s string area as its full length or a board’s width as its nose-to-tail span. For a range, check whether the chosen value is an actual model, a midpoint for illustration, or a permitted limit. Size It Up Sports Gear labels that distinction in the reveal. That label is central to Size It Up Sports Gear, because many sports have several legal equipment sizes.
08 / Fact and artwork review
The source-first path for Size It Up Sports Gear begins with governing-body equipment rules for standardised objects and manufacturer specifications for named consumer gear. The collection uses sources from IFAB, FIBA, ITTF, World Athletics, gymnastics bodies and named manufacturers. Each game object links its dimension source in the collection below.
Classic game silhouettes use existing project shapes or clearly licensed open vectors with object-level attribution. The four editorial images on this page were generated for Size It Up Sports Gear; they contain no borrowed team, league or brand marks. Exact scale comparisons remain HTML generated from sourced numbers.
Numerical equipment rules are facts; the original rulebook drawings, photographs, logos and prose are not copied. This keeps Size It Up Sports Gear focused on recognisable generic equipment while still tracing every number and credited vector.
